Utah State art teacher Carsten Meier carries a willow branch to his “Zirkel” living art project at Sheridan College Thursday, June 14, 2018. Meier built a 46-foot diameter circle of woven willow branches that will grow and close up the inside from human interference as a metaphor for preservation of nature and wilderness. This is the second Zirkel that Meier built. He plans on installing a growing Zirkel in every state of the U.S.
