Eight-year-old Keira Ives, left, and Haylie McGill, 11, cut into the pizza spinach spiral that they just made in the cooking class during College for Kids Wednesday at Sheridan College. The class was to teach kids how to make healthy snacks at home. This is the 29th year that Sheridan College has allowed the program to utilize their facilities. The program is operated under the non-profit SAGES (Sheridan Area Gifted education Support). The College for Kids is a week-long program offered once a year in the summer, usually around rodeo week, to promote education and to expose the youth, from 3rd grade and up, to the college campus. Classes are taught by volunteer teachers from the school districts and former students returning at teachers. Justin Sheely/The Sheridan Press.
